While I was in Marinduque last May 2007, I had the opportunity to talk to the newly elected Governor Bong Carrion and the re-elected, highly active, Board Member Allan Nepomuceno, who both expressed that they would be attending the MI Reunion in Texas to give us an update on where Marinduque is now and where Marinduque would be 6 years from now.

If they come and a "Town Hall Meeting" atmosphere is set up, we can discuss with them any of our individual or collective concerns on the future of Marinduque and any problems that are bogging us, recommendations/suggestions to resolve any issues or problems, and any support that any Marinduque association would be able to provide.

In the meantime, we can use this Forum to preliminarily discuss any of those concerns, issues, or problems. Example: (1) A reliable power supply to sustain future industrial expansion as an incentive and guarantee to industrial investor, which eventually will significantly improve the economy of the province? (2) A reliable water supply for each town? (3) Any individual or group donations for the acquisition of tools, equipment for use by the Emergency Response Team after a major natural disaster? Tools like power saws, generators, portable pumps, etc?

The MASTEG membership is anticipating at least 400 Marinduquenos and guests to attend the reunion.

Regards to all.

Bongsalvo
