Q: Do I have to be a part of the chapter to attend the convention and reunion?
A: Nope. In fact, EVERYONE who is interested in attending are welcome to come. We invite all guests to come and get to know your fellow Marinduquenos better-we would LOVE to see you there!
Q: Should I bring my entire family?
A: Well of course! Whether they are 1-92 years old we will make your visit enjoyable for your entire family no matter what age. If you're hesitant to bring along your kids because they think it's just for the elders and they'll feel out of the loop, don't hesitate any further! Our kids over here, especially the Mantaring children, would love to show them around! We will definitely make sure they have a fun time as well.
So bring 'em in! The more the merrier!
Q: What does all this MACA...MASC...MASTEGS mean?
A: These are all abreviations of all the Marinduqueno organizations under Marinduque International, Inc. from around the nation. To make it easier to refer to them, we use these abreviations. Here are all the organizations spelled out for you:
Marinduqueno Association of the Capitol Area (MACA)
Marinduquenos of the Eastern Seaboard of America (MESA)
Marinduqueno Association of Chicago, USA (MACUSA)
Marinduque Association of Northern California (MANC)
Marinduque Association of Southern California (MASC)
Marinduque Cultural Society of Canada (MCSC)
Marinduque Association of British Colombia (MABC)
Marinduque Society of Texas and the Gulf States (MASTEGS)
Q: Are you undecided about going?
A: If at this moment you are unsure about attending the reunion and convention due to certain circumstances, we want you to know that we are here to help you in your search of booking flights, finding accomodations, transportation, etc. We will try our very best to make planning this visit to Texas as simple as possible because we really want you to come! TEXAS RELATED QUESTIONS:
Q: Is Texas made up of a bunch of cowboys and horses?
A: No silly.
This is a common misconception with Texas. In fact, Houston is one of the most diverse cities with people from nationalities ranging from Asian Americans, Hispanic, African Americans, Caucasians, etc. It is the fourth largest city in the United States. It has a lot to offer and has a little something for everyone of different tastes.
Q: Is it as hot as they say it is?
A: It's not as scorching hot as you may think of it to be but yes, it may be hotter than the state that you came from. However, it’s all about the experience. That is what makes Texas, Texas. Just come prepared with the right kind of wardrobe, keep yourself hydrated and you’ll be just fine.
Q: Houston sounds like it's in the middle of no where, is there really anything to do out there?
A: Well, if you’ve never been out here, how will you ever know? You need to come experience it for yourself! The MASTEGS hopes to make your visit a memorable one. We hope by now you've checked out the short and exciting video about Houston on the front page of this website.

OTHER RANDOM FACTS ABOUT TEXAS CULTURE:
*We like to say “Ya’ll”. So don’t get confused when we say that word. It is simply a conjunction of “You All” or also stands for “You Guys”. Heck, probably by the time you leave Texas, you’ll be saying it too!
*Southern Hospitality: This is something we take pride in over here. You will find some of the most friendly and hospitable people. Now, we can’t guarantee that everyone here will be as friendly as can be, but don’t be surprised if people hold the door for you or give you a friendly smile and/or “hello” as you walk by a stranger. They’re not stalking you, they’re just exhibiting their southern hospitality.
