After a year of preparation, planning, meetings, midnight oil burning and sacrifices – we all have done it and its all over. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who took the time to come out to attend the Convention and Reunion here in Houston, Texas.
On our first night at the Texas Roundup it was so great to see everyone in their Texas cowboy gear. Even better, a blast to watch you brave cowboys take on the mechanical bull! Now you are truly an Honorary Texan!
On Friday, the weather was sunny yet humid during the Welcome Picnic. We had many rainy days closing into the event, but thanks to the Santa Clara sisters in Boac who prayed for us, it brought us beautiful weather. We are glad that everyone toughed it out and was able to have a taste of the delicious Cajun cooking. That night was full of comedic relief at the 1st Marinduque International Cup, a brainchild of MASTEGS. It was such a joy to see each chapter share their wonderful talents. On that note, our congratulations to the winners of the MI Cup:
1st place – MASC
2nd place – MASTEGS
3rd – MACUSA
We hope that this event in particular will continue to be a tradition for years to come!
On Saturday, we had a productive Business Meeting and were able to tackle many issues and projects regarding Marinduque. We also would like to extend our congratulations to the new set of officers for Marinduque International, Inc. That evening everyone looked stunning in their gowns and tuxes during the Gala Night. We all surely danced the night away!
On the last day, it was sad to see everyone away at the Despedida Lunch, but such an awarding feeling to hear the comments of people in their approval of the entire event. We received many thank you cards, e-mails, phone calls and we are so honored to know how enjoyable the reunion was for you.
The event turned out to be a huge success! Throughout the four days, it was so great to see everyone in such high spirits and camaraderie. At the least, we hope you enjoyed your visit here in Houston and Sugar Land, Texas.
Thank you also for utilizing our website and taking on this new way of registering for the reunion. It has proven to be truly helpful in the preparation and organization of the event and we are grateful for all your support .
To all the presidents of each chapter, thank you for your dedication and support throughout the Convention and Reunion. We would also like to extend a very special thanks to this year’s attendees from all over the world– It would not have been possible without each and every one of you. From the bottom of our hearts We Thank You All So Very Much .We are looking forward to see you all again at the next reunion!
On behalf of the MASTEGS, it was a pleasure to host the reunion this year. Thank you so much for giving us a chance to show you what Texas is all about. Ya’ll come back now ya hear!
Sincerely Yours,
Gerry Mantaring, President
